Lucas di Grassi will start from further back on the grid for today’s 2026 Jeddah E-Prix after being penalized for failing to follow instructions from the FIA Race Director. The incident occurred during Round 4 of the 2025/26 World Championship.

Officials determined that di Grassi did not maintain the correct position relative to a bollard and failed to come to a complete stop after leaving the track at Turn 7, as outlined in Article 7.8 of the Drivers Briefing Notes. While the standard penalty for this infraction is a five-second time penalty, it has been converted to a three-place grid drop for the next race due to being assessed after the race’s conclusion.

In addition to the grid penalty, the Lola Yamaha ABT driver also receives a penalty point, bringing his total to eight over the past 12 months.
