Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia has announced a July 9, 2026 release date for Digimon Story Time Stranger, a new role-playing game (RPG) coming to both the Nintendo Switch and the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 console.
The monster-collecting RPG will task players with safeguarding the fate of both the human world and the digital world, offering a new entry point for fans of the genre. Players will assume the role of an ADAMAS agent caught in a large-scale crisis.
To prevent the destruction of both worlds, players must forge bonds, tame, and develop the abilities of over 450 different Digimon. Combat in Digimon Story Time Stranger utilizes a strategic, turn-based system, taking players on a journey across both worlds and even through time.
For players utilizing the Nintendo Switch 2, the game will offer two distinct modes: Quality Mode, delivering 4K HDR visuals at up to 30 frames per second when docked, and Performance Mode, providing Full HD graphics at up to 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld configurations. This aims to provide an immersive and smooth gaming experience.
While already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia is now accepting digital pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch version. Three editions will be available: Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate.
The Deluxe and Ultimate editions include a Season Pass containing three additional DLC packs, each adding five Digimon and new story episodes. Pre-order bonuses for all editions include the Costume Uniform of a Certain School, an Adventure Item Set, and Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black).
