Czech second-division club SK Artis Brno announced today the signing of defender Dominik Plechatý from Slovan Liberec, bolstering their squad with a seasoned veteran of the Czech top flight [[1]]. Plechatý brings over 120 appearances in the Czech league, and recent experience as captain for Liberec, to a team currently seeking to climb the league table.

Artis Brno is bolstering its squad with the addition of defender Dominik Plechatý from Slovan Liberec, the Czech second-division club announced January 27, 2026. The 26-year-old has signed a long-term contract with Brno, extending through June 30, 2029.

Plechatý has been a key player for Slovan in recent seasons, eventually earning the captain’s armband. He has made 120 appearances in the Czech top flight, contributing to four goals (1 goal, 3 assists). He scored his only league goal this season in a 4-0 victory over Pardubice, and has featured in 15 matches during the current campaign.

The Prague native has also played for Sparta, Jablonec, and Mladá Boleslav, spending four and a half years with Liberec. A versatile defender, Plechatý is capable of playing as a center-back or on either flank.

“This is a huge challenge for me,” Plechatý said on the Artis website after signing his contract. “The goal for this season is clear, and I’m here to help Artis reach the league. I considered my departure from Liberec for a long time, but I felt internally that it was time for a change.”

Artis Sporting Director Vlastimil Chytrý expressed his excitement about the experienced addition. “Dominik is a seasoned league player at the peak of his career. He captained Liberec, which clearly demonstrates his quality and character. We are bringing in a ready-made footballer and a leader,” he said.
