Following a 40th-anniversary celebration of teh globally popular dragon Ball franchise, Toei Animation confirmed production is underway on a new season of Dragon Ball Super. executive Producer Akio Iyoku announced the continuation will adapt the “Galactic Patrol” arc – also known as the “Moro saga” – offering a direct follow-up to the “Tournament of Power” storyline adn marking a return to customary, regular-season anime format after a focus on feature films. The commitment signals a long-term investment in the series, promising fans a new chapter in the enduring saga created by Akira Toriyama.

Fans of the iconic Dragon Ball Super franchise have reason to celebrate. During the celebration of the series’ 40th anniversary, executive producer Akio Iyoku confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol is officially moving into production, signaling a brand new animated chapter in the saga created by Akira Toriyama. The news is a major boost for anime fans eager for more content in the beloved universe.

Iyoku explained that the new anime will adapt the Galactic Patrol arc, also known as the Moro Saga. This will serve as a direct continuation of the Tournament of Power arc, picking up the narrative where it left off. Unlike spin-offs or films, this is a new regular season of Dragon Ball Super, specifically developed to adapt the manga storyline.

“Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patol is officially entering production! A new Dragon Ball is starting again. It is a continuation of the Tournament of Power arc. In terms of the manga, we decided to produce an anime for Dragon Ball Super, with the Galactic Patrol arc,” Iyoku stated.

This return underscores Toei Animation and the production committee’s commitment to maintaining Dragon Ball Super as an ongoing series, rather than relying solely on occasional film releases.

Iyoku also highlighted the technical aspects of the upcoming arc, stating it will be produced with “the highest level of visual quality.” This signals a dedication to enhanced animation, art direction, and visual consistency – potentially reflecting the advancements seen in the franchise’s recent theatrical releases.

While a premiere date or details regarding the episode count haven’t been revealed yet, the confirmation of production has already positioned Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol as one of the most anticipated anime returns in the coming years.
