Reporting Earthquakes in Colombia

The Colombian Geological Service encourages citizens to report any tremors they experience by completing the “felt earthquake” form available on their website: sismosentido.sgc.gov.co. This data helps authorities gather crucial details about seismic events.

“The information you provide through this simple form helps the Colombian Geological Service collect data related to the area where an earthquake was felt and its effects, in order to assess the seismic intensity,” the agency explains on the “Felt Earthquake” page.

Residents are also reminded to maintain an emergency kit at home and be familiar with basic first aid procedures, essential for coping with a seismic event.
