Egypt’s national team is gearing up for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, aiming to secure a record-extending eighth title and add another star to their jersey on Moroccan soil.

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to kick off on December 21st and will run through January 18th, 2026.

Egypt finds itself in Group Two alongside Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, and will open their campaign against the latter on Monday, December 22nd.

Egypt Leads the Way in Market Value

Recently revealed marketing values for the participating national teams show Egypt’s squad valued at €136.40 million, placing them among the top ten most valuable sides in the tournament.

But how does Egypt stack up within Group Two? The Pharaohs’ market value significantly surpasses their group opponents combined, with Angola, South Africa, and Zimbabwe totaling just €107.28 million – a difference of €29 million in Egypt’s favor.

The dominance is particularly evident when looking at individual players. Umar Marmoush, valued at €65 million, outshines every player across all four teams (a total of 111 players). Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah follows closely behind at €30 million.

This numerical advantage is expected to translate to on-field performance, as five Egyptian players alone boast a combined value of €104.4 million – a margin of €2.88 million over the collective worth of the other three teams’ squads.

These substantial figures highlight the quality and gap in class that Egypt possesses, both in terms of overall value and the presence of world-class talent.

All eyes will be on Akadir as Egypt’s stars and technical staff defend the colors of the most decorated team in Africa Cup of Nations history, seeking to reclaim their rightful place and capture an eighth title after a 15-year drought.
