A new entrant is challenging the dominance of urban SUVs with a return to traditional, body-on-frame off-road vehicle construction. The EMC 212 4×4 is designed for serious off-road use, diverging from the increasingly road-focused designs common in the current market.
Eurasia Motor Company (EMC), an Italian company founded in 2005 and based in Brescia, specializes in the European – primarily Italian – import and distribution of Chinese-manufactured passenger vehicles. The company previously represented several Asian brands before beginning to market vehicles under its own EMC brand in 2022.
The EMC 212 4×4 is based on a Chinese-developed design that EMC has adapted for the European market, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and meeting local consumer preferences. The company’s role centers on the vehicle’s European adaptation, sales, and network support.
Powering the EMC 212 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with direct injection, producing 217 horsepower. The engine has a displacement of 1,968 cc and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Combined fuel consumption is 12.21 l/100km, with carbon dioxide emissions of 276 g/km. These figures reflect the vehicle’s substantial 2.3-ton mass and prioritize durability and reliability of the powertrain.
The vehicle’s dimensions are geared towards serious off-road capability. Measuring 4,705 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,936 mm in height, the EMC 212 has a wheelbase of 2,860 mm. A ground clearance of 235 mm, approach and departure angles of 40 and 36 degrees respectively, and a wading depth of 850 mm enable the vehicle to overcome challenging terrain. The theoretical maximum climbing angle is 100 percent, and the towing capacity reaches up to 2,000 kilograms.
The EMC 212’s chassis is reinforced, and the body is built on a high-strength steel structure that underwent testing over more than one million kilometers in extreme conditions. Safety features include ABS, stability control, airbags, and, depending on the trim level, driver-assistance systems.
The interior design emphasizes functionality. Standard equipment in available trims includes air conditioning, a Bluetooth-enabled radio, and a USB port. The focus is on durable and effortless-to-use solutions rather than decorative elements. The vehicle is available in two versions, differing in equipment levels, but with the same technical base.
With a curb weight of 2,225 kilograms and a gross vehicle weight of 2,640 kilograms, the EMC 212 provides a stable platform for perform applications. In mountainous environments, forestry tasks, agricultural areas, or on difficult dirt roads, the switchable 4×4 system, transfer case, and differential locks offer a real practical advantage. The 235 mm ground clearance and large wheel articulation contribute to safely overcoming uneven terrain.
