A Greek basketball club recently suffered a defeat against Paris Basketball, and the club’s coach was ejected from the game prior to its conclusion due to emotional misconduct.
The incident did not go unnoticed by EuroLeague officials, who have levied a 10,000 euro fine and a one-game suspension against the coach. This type of behavior underscores the importance of emotional regulation, even in high-pressure competitive environments.
As of now, the suspension for the coach has been postponed and will be reviewed again, though the financial penalty will stand.
Financial penalties were too issued to Fenerbahce Istanbul, coached by Šarūnas Jasikevičius (12,000 euros), and Crvena zvezda Belgrade (7,500 euros).
