Nika Egadze of Georgia claimed gold at the European Figure Skating Championships in Sheffield, England, on Saturday, finishing with a total score of 273.00. The competition showcased a mix of established stars and rising talent as skaters battled for continental supremacy.
Austria’s Olga Mikutina finished 13th overall with a score of 166.55 after completing her free skate on Friday, placing twelfth in that segment. Estonia’s Niina Petrokina secured the women’s title with a total of 216.1 points.
Zandron Finishes 17th in Final European Appearance
Maurizio Zandron concluded his European Championships career with a 17th-place finish, improving his position by two spots in the free skate to achieve a final score of 196.25. “I put a clean free skate on the ice and I am really satisfied,” Zandron said. “I wanted to enjoy my free skate, the audience was wonderful. I was aware that this is my last European Championship. So it was a little stress. Now I prepare for the World Championships, where qualification is my goal.”
In ice dance, France’s Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron took gold with a score of 222.43. Austria’s Anita Straub and Andreas Straub did not advance to the free dance, finishing 24th in the rhythm dance.
