Former Director of Taxes and Domains Mamadou Mamour Diallo has publicly denied rumors of his death that circulated on social media this week.
In a phone interview with Dakaractu on Friday, April 24, 2026, Diallo confirmed he is in excellent health and recently returned from a pilgrimage to Mecca.
“I am doing wonderfully,” he said, adding that only God has power over life and death. “Alhamdulillah, where I am, I am alive and well by the grace of God.”
Diallo, who also previously served as director of the National Office of Sanitation (ONAS), dismissed the false reports with a smile, saying he was not bothered by the rumors and questioned their origin.
He urged his family, friends, and acquaintances not to be concerned, reiterating his well-being and placing judgment on those spreading misinformation in the hands of God.
The incident highlights how quickly unverified claims can spread online, particularly concerning public figures in Senegal.
