Italian authorities are intensifying the search for Federica Torzullo, 41, who has been missing since January 8th from Anguillara Sabazia, a town near Rome. Prosecutors in Civitavecchia have made a direct appeal to Torzullo’s husband, currently under investigation, urging him to turn himself in as evidence mounts and the family endures agonizing uncertainty. Investigators report discovering blood evidence at multiple locations linked to the husband, including the couple’s home and his family business, prompting a critical phase in the investigation.

Prosecutors in Civitavecchia are directly appealing to the husband of a missing woman, urging him to turn himself in to alleviate the suffering of her family.

The search continues for Federica Torzullo, 41, who has been missing since January 8 from Anguillara Sabazia, a town in the province of Rome. Investigators say evidence gathered so far has reached a level of strong indication against Federica Torzullo’s husband. This is according to a statement from Alberto Liguori, the prosecutor of Civitavecchia. The statement further explained that investigations are ongoing to verify his statements and establish “the full reconstruction of the events, the identification of the motive” and “any responsibility of other people.”

Blood Evidence Found

Carabinieri officers from Anguillara Sabazia and the investigative unit of Ostia, assisted by the forensic team from Rome, have reported finding “blood traces everywhere.” Specifically, investigators discovered evidence inside the couple’s home, on the work clothes of Federica’s husband, inside his vehicle, at a quarry, and on a mechanical vehicle at the husband’s, Claudio Carlomagno’s, family business.

Investigators are conducting detailed investigations and checks to evaluate any connections between the places visited by Federica’s husband and the night she disappeared. The Civitavecchia Prosecutor’s Office is also using this opportunity to ask anyone with information about the case to come forward to the Carabinieri. They are also urging “whoever is responsible for this serious act” to contact the Carabinieri to “first of all, end the anguish of family and friends who are clinging to the hope of finding Federica, and also to benefit from milder penalties provided by law.”

The Investigation

Technical assessments are scheduled this week to search for DNA on the items collected, with results expected soon. Review of surveillance footage shows Federica did not leave the house after 7:30 p.m. on January 8, and her cell phone records show no movement outside the residence. Her husband, however, left the house around 7:30 a.m. the following day to go to work. According to reports, nothing appears to be missing from the home except her purse and cell phone. “The current state of the criminal proceedings points, however, to a suspect burdened by strong circumstantial evidence, pending full exercise of his right to defense, his innocence remaining intact until a definitive conviction,” the prosecutor’s office concluded.
