A routine traffic stop in Bucharest recently took a dramatic turn when a young driver attempted to bypass the law with a cash bribe, only to find herself caught on camera. The incident, which has since surfaced online, serves as a stark reminder of the unwavering gaze of modern police bodycams.
A Costly Attempt to Avoid a Fine
The confrontation began in Sector 3, where a police officer pulled over a vehicle for illegal parking. During the interaction, the officer questioned the driver’s choice of location, asking, “Do you think it’s okay to park here? You have parking in the back.”

As the officer requested her identity card and insurance documents, the situation escalated. Upon discovering the driver was operating the vehicle without mandatory RCA insurance, the young woman attempted to negotiate her way out of the sanction. Seeking a “financial understanding,” she asked the officer, “Can’t we solve this some other way?”
Caught on Camera
In a bold move, the driver handed over her insurance documents with a 100-euro banknote tucked inside. However, the plan backfired immediately. The officer, who was wearing a bodycam, promptly called out the attempt, stating, “What is this money for? Everything is being recorded audio-video.”
The officer instructed the woman to remain in her vehicle while he officially reported the bribery attempt. He later confirmed the evidence, noting, “Yes, money was given in the insurance, 100 euros were place in. I filmed it with the bodycam.”
The incident has now transitioned from a traffic violation to a legal battle. According to reports from Libertatea and Antena 3 CNN, the driver is now facing a criminal case for her actions.
