Sao paulo – Automakers are unveiling plans for new models aimed at the Brazilian market, signaling increased investment adn competition in South America’s largest automotive sector. Fiat is previewing a new design language with a domestically produced Grande Panda, while Geely is expanding its presence with the EX5 em-i, its first vehicle specifically engineered for Brazilian consumers.Both companies announced production timelines targeting 2026, reflecting a growing trend toward localized manufacturing and hybrid vehicle options.

Fiat is previewing the design direction for its future vehicle lineup with a new prototype. The first model to emerge from this design language will be a domestically produced version of the Grande Panda, intended to replace the Argo, though a final name for the Brazilian market has yet to be determined.

The new hatchback is slated for release in 2026 and is expected to be manufactured in Betim, Minas Gerais. It will be the first Fiat vehicle built on the CMP platform, signaling a significant shift in the automaker’s engineering approach.

Geely is showcasing its first vehicle designed specifically for the Brazilian market, the EX5 em-i, at the recent automotive show. Production of the hybrid SUV is confirmed at Renault’s facility in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. This move represents Geely’s commitment to establishing a stronger foothold in the South American automotive sector.

While Geely has not yet released detailed specifications for the Brazilian version of the EX5 em-i, the model is known in other markets as a plug-in hybrid vehicle capable of being recharged via an external power source. The introduction of a plug-in hybrid option reflects growing consumer demand for more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles.
