Montreal to Celebrate 30 Years of Jean Leloup’s ‘Le Dôme’ With Star-Studded Tribute at Francos de Montréal
Montreal is preparing to honor one of the most influential records in Quebec music history as the 37th edition of the Francos de Montréal prepares to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Jean Leloup’s cult classic album, Le Dôme.
The centerpiece of the celebration will be a massive, free event titled “Pour la suite du Dôme,” scheduled for Sunday, June 14, 2026. Taking place on the main stage at the Place des Festivals, the concert will feature a new generation of artists revisiting the tracks that defined an era. The star-studded lineup includes Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Klô Pelgag, Les Louanges, Thierry Larose, Safia Nolin, Rau_Ze, We Are Wolves, Zach Zoya, and Ariane Roy.
For those unable to attend in person, the performance will be broadcast live on Radio-Canada OHdio and ICI Musique starting at 9:00 p.m. On June 14.
Released in October 1996, Le Dôme remains one of the most acclaimed works of Jean Leloup’s career. The album, which arrived six years after his previous release, L’amour est sans pitié (1990), followed a long and complex creative process. Its impact was immediate, selling over 100,000 copies within just two years of its release. The record is home to several timeless hits, including “Edgar,” “Johnny Go,” “Sang d’encre,” “Le monde est à pleurer,” and “I Lost My Baby.”

Despite the scale of the tribute, Jean Leloup himself will not be performing at the festival. Although his presence on stage would have been the ultimate draw, Maurin Auxéméry, the programming director for Francos de Montréal, expressed his excitement over the diverse group of artists assembled to celebrate a record that “has not aged a day” and continues to “pass from generation to generation.”
Leloup’s influence is seeing a major resurgence this season; in addition to the Francos tribute, his work serves as the foundation for Paradis perdus, a Cirque du Soleil production debuting this summer in Trois-Rivières.
The 30th-anniversary tribute is a highlight of a broader festival running from June 12 to June 20, 2026. This year’s programming emphasizes both local talent and international reach, with nearly a quarter of the lineup featuring artists from outside Quebec. Auxéméry noted that “in a constantly evolving musical landscape, the Francos remain an essential meeting point — a rare space dedicated to French-language music, which promotes its discoverability and influence.”
The festival’s outdoor stages will host a wide array of talent, including Marie-Mai, Gab Bouchard, Ariane Moffatt, Dead Obies, Bibi Club, Adib Alkhalidey, Antoine Corriveau, La Bottine souriante, Choses Sauvages, and Vanille. Ariane Roy is set to perform on the Rogers stage on June 13 at 9:00 p.m.
