Epic Games Store is kicking off the spring season with two free titles, launching at 16:00 today and coinciding with the conclusion of the previous giveaway. Players are encouraged to claim Electrician Simulator and the Epic Anniversary Tachibana Pack for World of Warships before the offer ends.
Havendock Available for Free in Epic Games Store
One of this week’s free offerings allows players to relax while building a small town in the middle of the ocean, serving as a welcoming haven for castaways. Appropriately named Havendock, the game centers around cultivating plants, gathering supplies, raising animals, conducting research, and caring for the needs of the settlement’s inhabitants – until machines begin to take over the perform.
Notably, Epic Games is offering a relatively new title, released less than a year ago after two years in early access. Players on Steam have praised Havendock’s relaxing gameplay, generally agreeing that the game developed by YYZ Studio is endlessly engaging, with nearly 1500 reviews, 82% of which are positive. From our perspective, the biggest drawback appears to be the lack of Polish language support.
Hyper Echelon Available for Free in Epic Games Store
The second free game as well requires playing in English. However, its nature makes this a minor issue, as Hyper Echelon is a science fiction shoot’em up offering four difficulty levels, where players, to simplify, shoot down everything that moves from the cockpit of a progressively upgraded fighter. These targets are primarily fleets of a menacing, mysterious force called Exodon, attempting to conquer the Cyan Galaxy.
Enthusiasts of this classic genre have appreciated the efforts of GangoGames – the studio behind Hyper Echelon, which recently made the game even more retro with additional image filters – giving it 88% positive reviews on Steam. However, after more than four years, only 63 opinions have been posted, clearly demonstrating that this type of single-army engagements – although co-op is available here – is now a niche market.
