Bangkok residents in the Khlong Sam Wa district will have access to free health screenings and preventative care this Sunday, December 21, as part of a collaborative effort to reach vulnerable populations. The initiative, a partnership between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), the National Health Security Office (NHSO), and several healthcare organizations, aims to provide essential medical services to laborers and underserved communities in the Khlong Toei area.

The free health event will be held at the Ramindra Community Housing Estate (Khib Moo Community) in the Bang Chan sub-district. According to Pol. Lt. Col. Thanasak Thampan, Director of NHSO Zone 13, Bangkok, the program offers proactive health screenings, wellness promotion, and disease prevention services.

Several organizations are contributing to the effort. Central Hospital will provide screenings aligned with the BMA’s “1 Million Health Check-ups” policy, covering blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, liver, kidney, and heart health. Fortune Dental Clinic will offer mobile dental services, including scaling, fillings, extractions, pit and fissure sealants, and fluoride treatments. Health Clinic will host a booth promoting telemedicine services.

The Thread of Life Foundation will provide guidance and transportation assistance for Gold Card holders, while Phrayasurinth Clinic will offer HIV screenings and distribute condoms to promote sexual health. NHSO Zone 13 Bangkok will be on-site to verify eligibility, register participants, and provide information about the Gold Card benefits program.

“This activity exemplifies an integrated approach where the NHSO collaborates with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the private sector, and civil society to ensure that people, especially informal workers and low-income earners, can access healthcare,” said Pol. Lt. Col. Thanasak. “Good health is a fundamental right for everyone.”

The event will also feature health advice, consultations with doctors, and information about the Gold Card program, helping residents understand and utilize their healthcare benefits effectively. The initiative underscores the importance of accessible healthcare for all Bangkok residents.

Registration for the free health screenings will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 21, and will close at 1:00 p.m. at the Khib Moo Community in the Bang Chan sub-district of Khlong Sam Wa. Additional information is available by calling the NHSO hotline at 1330 or visiting the “Ru Jing Sitti Bat Tong” (Know Your Gold Card Rights) Bangkok page.
