Fujifilm Opens New Photography Hubs in Barcelona and Porto
Fujifilm launched two new “House of Photography” locations in Europe this week, expanding access to photography education, exhibitions, and its product lines.
The first space opened yesterday, November 5, in Barcelona, Spain, at Gran de Gràcia 1, while the second opened today, November 7, in Porto, Portugal, on Rua Sá da Bandeira. Both locations are designed as immersive experiences, showcasing Fujifilm’s Instax, X Series, and GFX camera systems through dedicated areas reflecting each product range’s unique approach to photography. The Barcelona location features a gallery currently exhibiting the work of photographers Pilar Aymerich and Toni Amengual, contrasting Barcelona photography from the 1970s and 80s with contemporary images, and will host rotating exhibitions through December 12.
The Porto location, spanning 220 square meters and costing approximately €500,000 to establish, mirrors the Barcelona experience, offering workshops, events, and product demonstrations alongside exhibition space for both Portuguese and international artists. This investment signals Fujifilm’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the European photography market and fostering a community around its products. Fujifilm’s X Series cameras are increasingly popular among both professional and amateur photographers, as noted in DPReview’s camera reviews.
“We are very proud to open the 2nd HOUSE OF PHOTOGRAPHY in Europe,” said Eduardo López, Director of Imaging and Recording Media at Fujifilm Spain. “A project that transcends the commercial to become the home of inspiration and photographic creation, whose objective is to make photography the eighth art.” Both Houses of Photography will also retail Fujifilm accessories and branded merchandise.
