Gading Marten and Medina Dina’s Flight Canceled Amidst International Conflict

Jakarta – Actors Gading Marten and Medina Dina experienced travel disruptions after their flight was canceled due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel. The pair were hoping to return to Indonesia, but found themselves temporarily stranded in Paris.

Marten shared updates on his Instagram Stories, initially posting “Let’s Go Home” on Friday, March 6, 2026, signaling their readiness to return. Although, their journey was delayed as they were stuck in Paris following the cancellation. This situation mirrors the experiences of other travelers as international airlines adjusted routes to avoid affected airspace.

The couple wasn’t alone in their travel woes. They encountered actor Harris Vriza and his wife, who were similarly facing delays due to the same circumstances. “Eh ada temennya ini sama-sama terdampar,” Marten noted, translating to “Hey, here’s a friend who’s also stranded.” Vriza jokingly inquired about ticket refunds, to which Marten responded, “Iya sih walaupun setengah,” meaning “Yes, but only half.” Vriza confirmed he was experiencing the same partial refund situation.

Marten also shared his experience on social media, expressing gratitude for the concern shown by friends. “Memang ya, cuma di-text, ‘Ding, are you okay?’ Gimana pulangnya?’ Senang dan terharu punya temen-temen kayak gitu,” he wrote, which translates to, “I just get texts like, ‘Ding, are you okay?’ How’s the return trip?’ I’m happy and touched to have friends like that.”

Despite the setback, Marten remained optimistic, seeking alternative routes back to Jakarta. “Well, memang belum bisa pulang. Jadi mencari jalan lain dari kota lain dan pesawat lain untuk pulang,” he explained, meaning, “Well, I can’t go home yet. So I’m looking for another route from another city and another plane to return.” He asked for prayers for a safe journey home, extending well wishes to others facing similar travel challenges.

Marten also found some comfort in enjoying Indonesian cuisine while in Paris, sharing photos of ayam bakar (grilled chicken), bakwan jagung (corn fritters), mendoan (fried tempeh), and soto tangkar (beef soup). “Ini dia ada ayam bakar, bakwan jagung, mendoan dan soto tangkar. Ini di Makan makan di Paris. Bersama mahasiswi juga, semangat dan aku berasa di rumah,” he said, translating to “Here’s grilled chicken, corn fritters, fried tempeh, and beef soup. Eating in Paris. Also with students, stay strong and I feel at home.”

The travel disruptions reach as tensions in the Middle East prompted airlines to reroute flights, impacting international travel plans. This situation highlights the ripple effects of geopolitical events on the entertainment industry and the travel plans of its stars.
