NVIDIA is significantly upgrading its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service, boosting VR streaming frame rates to 90fps and introducing in-app labels to aid players easily identify games included with their subscriptions. The updates, announced today, March 11, 2026, aim to streamline the cloud gaming experience and enhance immersion for virtual reality users.

The enhancements to GeForce NOW include a substantial increase in virtual reality (VR) streaming frame rates to 90fps. NVIDIA is refining the application interface with “In-App labels” for Microsoft Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft+ subscriptions, allowing players to quickly discover and play games available through their existing services. This move reflects the growing importance of subscription services in the gaming landscape.

Simplifying Cross-Platform Access with Subscription Labels

For gamers managing multiple subscription services, keeping track of which games belong to which platform can be challenging. To address this, the upcoming GeForce NOW update will introduce new “In-App labels.” Once players link their Xbox or Ubisoft+ accounts, GeForce NOW game tiles will display clear, dedicated labels, eliminating the need to guess or switch between windows to confirm which games are available through their subscriptions. This aims to create a truly seamless experience.

Beyond the interface improvements, NVIDIA is expanding the range of supported account linking. Following the announcement at CES 2026 supporting single sign-on for Gaijin game accounts, NVIDIA plans to add support for GOG account linking and game library synchronization in the coming months, further integrating players’ digital assets.

Enhanced Cloud VR Experience: 90fps for Greater Fluidity

Virtual reality demands low latency and high frame rates, and NVIDIA is pushing the boundaries of cloud-based VR performance. Starting March 19, 2026, GeForce NOW will increase streaming frame rates for supported VR devices – including Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest series – from 60fps to 90fps, but this feature is exclusive to Ultimate tier subscribers.

The increased frame rate is expected to significantly reduce motion sickness, improve visual fluidity, responsiveness, and immersion, allowing players to experience near-native gaming performance whether chasing enemies through neon-lit streets or exploring distant alien worlds.

Expanding Game Library with Install-to-Play Options

On the game front, GeForce NOW’s “Install-to-Play” feature will add more selected Xbox games, including Double Fine Productions’ Brütal Legend and Compulsion Games’ Contrast, offering players the convenience of streaming alongside the option to download and install.

Several highly anticipated, unreleased AAA titles are also confirmed to launch on GeForce NOW on day one:

• CONTROL Resonant: The supernatural action-adventure RPG sequel from Remedy Entertainment, where players take on the role of Dylan Faden, the protagonist’s brother, battling cosmic threats in a distorted Manhattan.

• Samson: A Tyndalston Story: A hardcore action brawler from Liquid Swords, set in the mythical city of Tyndalston.

NVIDIA also announced the addition of cloud testing functionality to the GeForce NOW platform, allowing game developers to test game content, conduct internal testing, offer external testing opportunities, and provide access for media reviews, with support for game recording, controller usage, and video input.
