Godox has announced the AD100Pro II, the latest iteration of its popular compact off-camera flash, promising professional-grade lighting in a remarkably portable design. The new model builds on the strengths of the original AD100Pro with improvements to performance and usability, catering to both studio and on-location photographers. With wireless capabilities and compatibility across major camera brands, the AD100Pro II aims to provide a versatile and powerful lighting solution for a wide range of photographic applications.

Godox has unveiled the AD100Pro II, the next generation of its compact, off-camera flash, offering professional-grade performance in a remarkably portable package roughly the size of a soda can. The new flash aims to provide photographers with a powerful and versatile lighting solution for both studio and on-location shoots.

The battery-powered flash can be used in small studios or on location, both indoors and outdoors, and is controlled and triggered wirelessly. It’s compatible with major camera brands. This second-generation model features a color display, USB-C charging, color indicators for flash groups, and a freeze mode.

Godox AD100Pro II: Compact with Professional Performance

Building on the success of the original AD100Pro, the AD100Pro II offers photographers noticeable improvements in performance, ease of use, and reliability for everyday use in the studio and on location. The integrated 2.4 GHz wireless control enables reliable wireless control with a range of up to approximately 100 meters, even in complex multi-light setups.

The AD100Pro II is part of the AD series, which includes several models with varying power outputs, with the number in the name indicating the flash power in watt-seconds. Like this 100Ws model, Godox has recently released updated versions (Mark-II) of the more powerful models in the AD series, including the AD400ProII, the AD600ProII, and the AD200ProII.

Compact, Powerful, and Well-Designed

Delivering 100Ws of power in a particularly compact housing, the Godox AD100Pro II is specifically designed for flexible on-location and studio use. Thanks to the newly developed cooling system, it can now handle 60 to 100 consecutive flashes at full power without performance loss, making it a reliable tool even during intensive shoots. This advancement underscores the growing demand for portable, high-performance lighting solutions.

Another highlight is the new color-coded group display. 16 colored LED indicators make it easy to identify which flash group a flash is assigned to, simplifying multi-light setups and saving valuable time on set. This feature is complemented by a new full-color display that presents settings clearly and intuitively.

Precise Control and Versatile Lighting

The AD100Pro II is fully integrated into the Godox 2.4 GHz X Wireless System and is compatible with Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, OM System, Panasonic, Pentax, and Leica. In addition to TTL, the unit supports high-speed sync up to 1/8000 s, front curtain and rear curtain sync. Quick pairing with the Godox X3 and X3 Pro trigger significantly reduces setup time.

For maximum creative freedom, the refined optical lens system with a 28 to 85mm zoom provides even, soft light distribution with a natural falloff. A 5W LED modeling lamp with ten brightness levels assists with lighting setup. Thanks to a magnetic mount, the AD100Pro II is directly compatible with Godox Round Head accessories such as the AK R1, AK R22, and AK R21. With the S3 adapter, light shapers with a Bowens mount can also be attached and used.

AD Series

The AD series of flashes from Godox offers mobile, compact, and powerful off-camera flashes (OTC) that recall earlier studio/location compact flashes (flash head and generator in one unit). However, today’s OTC flashes – like Godox’s AD models – are smaller and lighter, can be used anywhere thanks to their battery power, and can be set and triggered wirelessly. With compatibility with many light modifiers, a subject can be professionally lit in the studio and on location – indoors and outdoors.
