Local and regional governments in Sweden will soon be able to apply for state funding to support efforts combating violence against women. The application window opens January 13 and closes February 18, 2026, according to Swedish legislation (Förordning (2025:838)).

The funding aims to strengthen and develop regional and local initiatives designed to prevent and address violence against women. This initiative underscores the Swedish government’s commitment to addressing gender-based violence.

To assist potential applicants, the Swedish Board of Agriculture – specifically its regional branch for Västra Götaland County – is offering a series of digital help desk sessions throughout January and February. These sessions are intended to guide applicants through the electronic application process and provide a forum for discussing project ideas.

The help desk will be available on the following dates:

January 16, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

January 28, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

February 11, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Representatives from the agency clarified that while they will provide technical assistance with the application portal, they cannot offer support with the formulation of applications or the specific content of proposed projects.

The help desk sessions are open to representatives from municipalities, municipal associations, and the Västra Götaland region. Those interested in attending the January 16 session must register no later than January 15.

Registration links for the January 28 and February 11 sessions can be found here and here, respectively.
