The 15th Gulf-European Conference on Interventional Cardiology concluded Thursday in Dubai, bringing together leading medical professionals to discuss the latest advancements in heart care. The two-day event drew over 1,200 cardiologists, catheter specialists, and other healthcare practitioners from across the region and around the globe, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Approximately 200 experts and specialists from 82 countries participated as speakers at the conference, which WAM described as the largest of its kind in the Gulf region and the Middle East focusing on interventional cardiology.
Conference President Ibrahim Al-Rashdan, a consultant cardiologist and catheter specialist, stated that live broadcasts via satellite connected attendees to six complex cases involving the treatment of coronary and heart valve conditions. The procedures were performed at four prominent medical centers in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Al-Rashdan noted that previous iterations of the conference have featured live broadcasts of advanced cardiac procedures from the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and other nations in the region. This demonstrates a growing commitment to sharing expertise and improving cardiac care throughout the Middle East.
