Highway 155 in Perry County to Close for Culvert Replacement Next Week

Highway 155 north of Casa, Arkansas, will be completely closed around the clock from 7 a.m. Monday, October 13, through 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, as crews work to replace a pipe culvert.

The closure will affect a section of Highway 155 just south of Fawbus Lane, and is necessary to ensure the long-term stability of the roadway. Highway 155 will remain open to local traffic only on either side of the work zone. A signed detour will be in place for through traffic, directing southbound drivers to take Highway 155 to Highway 324 south, then Highway 10 west, and back to Highway 155. Northbound drivers will follow the reverse route.

Motorists are advised to plan for extra travel time and consider alternate routes during the closure. Digital message boards, construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be used to clearly mark the detour and alert drivers to the road work. Officials stated that the culvert replacement is a routine maintenance project designed to prevent future road damage and ensure public safety. Crews will work to reopen the highway as quickly as possible, weather permitting.
