Campaña de vacunación en Santa Fe: dónde aplican dosis esta semana

Santa Fe Deploys Mobile Vaccination Units to Boost Winter Immunity

The Municipality of Santa Fe has expanded its #ModoVacuna campaign, a strategic mobile health initiative designed to bring free vaccinations directly to the public. Launched by the administration of Mayor Juan Pablo Poletti in collaboration with the provincial Ministry of Health, the program utilizes pop-up clinics in high-traffic urban areas to ensure that high-risk populations are protected before the onset of the winter season.

By deploying these mobile units in public spaces, health officials aim to eliminate barriers to access for residents who may be unable to visit traditional health centers. This proactive approach is critical for reducing the seasonal burden on the healthcare system by preventing respiratory illnesses in the most vulnerable groups.

Targeted Protection for High-Risk Groups

The current phase of the campaign focuses on three primary demographics with specific immunization goals:

Targeted Protection for High-Risk Groups
  • Seniors and At-Risk Adults: Doses to prevent pneumonia are being administered to individuals over the age of 65 and those with identified risk factors.
  • Expectant Mothers (RSV): The vaccine against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is available for pregnant women between their 32nd and 36th weeks of gestation. This measure is intended to strengthen the immunity of newborns from birth, anticipating the virus’s winter circulation.
  • Expectant Mothers (Pertussis): To provide early protection for newborns, the municipality is administering the Triple Bacterial vaccine (DPT and DTPa), which protects against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). This dose is recommended starting from the 20th week of each pregnancy.

In addition to these targeted efforts, health officials have noted that any resident may visit the mobile units to complete their general vaccination records by presenting their health booklet.

Public Health Objectives and Coverage Goals

The joint effort between the city and the provincial Ministry of Health is driven by specific epidemiological targets. Officials are striving to achieve a vaccination coverage rate of at least 70% among adults over 65. The program aims to reach 50% of adults under 65 who possess risk factors, specifically within the city’s prioritized zones.

These targets underscore the city’s commitment to creating a community-wide shield against respiratory infections, which typically see a spike in cases during colder months.

Weekly Schedule: April 6 – April 9, 2026

The #ModoVacuna mobile units will be stationed at the following locations this week:

  • Monday, April 6: General Belgrano Bus Terminal (Belgrano 2910) from 10:00 a.m. To 2:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 7: Plaza Pueyrredón (Bulevar Gálvez and Sarmiento) from 9:00 a.m. To 12:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 8: Plaza Soldado Argentino (Salta and San Jerónimo) from 9:00 a.m. To 1:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 9: Molino Marconetti (Dique II – Puerto de Santa Fe) from 2:00 p.m. To 5:00 p.m.

The continued high rate of public participation in these mobile clinics suggests a growing community awareness of the importance of preventative care in mitigating seasonal health risks.
