Honor is set to unveil its next-generation foldable phone, the Magic V6, on March 1st at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, with the event running through March 6th. The announcement comes as foldable devices continue to gain traction, pushing the boundaries of smartphone innovation.
Beyond the launch date, new certifications reveal the Magic V6 will significantly improve charging speeds compared to its predecessor, the Magic V5 (currently available on Amazon for $1,620). The China Compulsory Certification (CCC) confirms support for 120-watt wired charging, a substantial leap from the Magic V5’s 67-watt maximum.
This faster charging capability will also position the Magic V6 favorably against competing foldable devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Oppo Find N5. The CCC filings also corroborate earlier reports that Honor will offer the Magic V6 in two distinct models, identified as PNM-AN10 and PNM-AN20. The primary difference between the two appears to be support for Beidou satellite messaging.
Honor is expected to pair the 120W wired charging with a substantial battery capacity, likely around 7,150 mAh. More affordable versions of the Magic V6 may feature a slightly smaller 6,850 mAh battery. All models are anticipated to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
