G7 Nations Endorse Trump’s Gaza Plan, Urge Iran Nuclear Compliance
Foreign ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) nations issued a joint statement today strongly endorsing U.S. President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and calling on Iran to fully adhere to its international nuclear obligations.
Meeting in the Niagara Region of Canada, the ministers “reiterated our strong support” for the plan and welcomed the ongoing cease-fire and the recent release of hostages. They also stressed the urgent need to return the remains of deceased hostages and acknowledged the increased flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, while simultaneously expressing concern over remaining restrictions. “We called on all parties to allow for humanitarian assistance without interference at scale, through the United Nations and its agencies, and the Red Crescent, in addition to other international institutions and INGOs, as stipulated in President Trump’s plan,” the statement read.
The G7 also addressed Iran’s nuclear program, urging full implementation of obligations under UN Security Council resolutions and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. They demanded that Iran “resume full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, including enabling inspections of all nuclear facilities and materials.” This comes amid growing international concerns about Iran’s nuclear advancements and potential regional instability.
This unified stance from the G7 underscores the international community’s focus on resolving the conflicts in both Gaza and Iran, and signals a coordinated effort to promote stability in the Middle East. Officials indicated they will continue to monitor the situation closely and assess further steps as needed.
