Huawei has launched its flagship HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro in the United Arab Emirates, marking the first global release of the Mate series after a period of limited availability. The recent device places a significant emphasis on advancements in camera technology, durability, and overall performance, alongside improved prompt-charging capabilities.
The phone is available for purchase starting at 3,699 United Arab Emirates dirhams through the company’s official store and authorized retailers across the Emirates.
“True-to-Color” Imaging
The Mate 80 Pro introduces a new camera system dubbed “True-to-Color,” designed to deliver enhanced color accuracy even in challenging lighting conditions. Huawei states that a new image signal processor enables superior image processing and reduced video noise, aiming to capture scenes as closely as possible to what the human eye perceives. This focus on realistic color reproduction is a key trend in smartphone camera development.
The system utilizes larger image sensors to improve light intake and low-light performance. It similarly integrates the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto cameras to ensure consistent color reproduction across different shooting modes. The telephoto lens supports close-up photography from as close as 5 centimeters, enabling detailed macro shots.
Enhanced Durability
Huawei has significantly improved the Mate 80 Pro’s durability. The front of the phone features second-generation Kunlun glass, reinforced with nanocrystals, providing resistance to drops up to 20 times greater than traditional glass. The back of the device utilizes materials derived from plant fibers to enhance rigidity and provide a premium feel, with shock resistance up to five times higher.
The phone also boasts advanced protection ratings, including IP68 for water and dust resistance, and IP69 for withstanding high-pressure water jets and heat. These certifications ensure reliability in demanding environments.

Large Battery and Fast Charging
The Mate 80 Pro is equipped with a 5750 milliampere-hour battery, supporting 100-watt wired fast charging and 80-watt wireless fast charging. Huawei claims a 21% improvement in overall performance compared to the previous generation, enhancing smoothness for daily tasks and demanding applications. This emphasis on battery life and charging speed reflects the growing demands of mobile users.
With these specifications, Huawei positions the Mate 80 Pro as a competitor in the flagship smartphone market, with a particular focus on professional-grade photography and durability as key elements of the user experience.
