‘Huis Gemaakt’ Winners Eros and Soumaya Expecting First Child
Reality television stars Eros Bourgoignie and Soumaya El Khaoudi, who rose to fame after winning the Belgian renovation competition series “Huis Gemaakt” (House Made), are expecting their first child.
The couple, who captured the hearts of viewers with their renovation skills and charming personalities, shared the exciting news with fans. This announcement marks a novel chapter for the pair, who faced unexpected challenges shortly after their win.
In July 2025, just after being crowned champions of “Huis Gemaakt,” Eros and Soumaya were unexpectedly terminated from their jobs as team leaders at a boat rental company in Ghent. “We were incredibly happy with our win, but then we received a message that we had lost our jobs. That was tough,” Eros said at the time, according to Blijned.nl. The couple suspected their participation in the popular show may have contributed to the decision, as their employer reportedly wasn’t keen on the media attention.
They subsequently engaged with their union to address the situation, but remained tight-lipped about the specifics. “We discussed the situation with the union and they are now taking it over,” Soumaya explained. Despite the setback, the couple remained hopeful and focused on starting their life in the renovated home they won on the show.
Fortunately, the pair have since found new employment, with Eros and Soumaya confirming in October 2025 that they had secured new jobs, even receiving an offer from a mortuary, according to Nieuws Koppen.
The news of their pregnancy adds a heartwarming layer to their story, demonstrating their resilience and positive outlook after navigating a difficult period. The couple has not yet shared details regarding their due date or any further plans.
