Jakarta’s stock market opened the week with a sharp decline on Monday, as the Composite Index fell nearly 5%-its largest single-day drop as November. Despite the broad sell-off impacting over 700 stocks, foreign investors stepped in as net buyers, offering a degree of support to the market and signaling continued, though selective, interest in Indonesian equities; the influx totaled Rp654.94 billion. Jakarta – The Indonesian stock market experienced a significant downturn at the start of the week, with the Composite Index closing in negative territory and falling by as much as 5%. On Monday, February 2, 2026, the index finished down 4.88%, or 406.88 points, at 7,922.73.

Total transaction value reached Rp 29.17 trillion, involving 50.41 billion shares traded across 2.95 million transactions. Of the stocks traded, 720 declined in value, 36 remained unchanged, and only 58 saw gains.

Despite the overall market decline, foreign investors demonstrated a net buying position, totaling Rp654.94 billion across the entire market. This included Rp593.35 billion in regular market transactions and Rp61.59 billion in negotiated and cash market deals. The foreign inflows offered some support to the index, mitigating the extent of the losses.
