Jakarta – The Indonesian stock market continued its upward trajectory Tuesday, reaching a record high amid sustained foreign investment and robust trading activity. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed at 8,933.61, a new all-time peak, following a 0.84% increase-part of a broader trend reflecting growing confidence in the Indonesian economy and its equity markets [[1]]. Foreign investors injected approximately $38.3 million USD into Indonesian equities during TuesdayS session, signaling continued interest in the Southeast Asian market [[2]].




Jakarta, The Indonesian stock market’s benchmark index reached a new all-time high on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, fueled by strong trading volume and significant foreign investment. The Composite Index closed up 74.42 points, or 0.84%, at 8,933.61.

Tuesday’s trading session saw Rp 34.16 trillion (approximately $2.2 billion USD) in transactions involving 67.93 billion shares across 4.37 million trades. A total of 428 stocks advanced, while 256 declined, and 127 remained unchanged, indicating broad market participation.

Foreign investors demonstrated a strong appetite for Indonesian equities, recording net purchases of Rp 590.94 billion ($38.3 million USD) across the entire market. Further bolstering confidence, net buying reached Rp 911.41 billion ($59.2 million USD) in regular and cash market transactions, while net sales totaled Rp 320.47 billion ($20.7 million USD) in the regular market.

Several stocks saw particularly strong demand from foreign buyers, driving the overall market gains. According to data from Stockbit, the top ten stocks by net foreign buy on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, were:
