Fans of the beloved 1970s Czech television series Hospital on the edge of Town will remember Andrea Čunderlíková as the quietly observant nurse Ina. Now, decades after the show’s original run – and a recent revival – the actress is garnering attention once more as she contemplates a return to acting. This comes after a long break from the screen following a career shift to management after the Velvet Revolution.

PRAGUE – The series Hospital on the Edge of Town was one of the most-watched programs in the 1970s. It’s no surprise that after 20 years, the television network revisited the story with a continuation. But do you remember nurse Ina? See how she looks today… and she admitted to being afraid of the camera!
Nurse Ina was a key character in the iconic series Hospital on the Edge of Town. The role was played by actress Andrea Čunderlíková – a native of Prague who also has strong ties to Slovakia. Her father was Slovakian, giving her a mixed heritage. Čunderlíková initially studied economics, but her path eventually led her, at least for a time, in a different direction: acting.

Despite the character of the nurse being her most recognizable role, Čunderlíková was initially hesitant to accept it. She explained that the reserved nature of Ina was the opposite of her own personality. The actress is known for being outgoing, energetic, and talkative. However, she didn’t remain in the entertainment industry for long. Following the Velvet Revolution, she chose to leave the spotlight and pursue a career in management, a field she continues to work in today.
It appears she is now considering a return to acting. Čunderlíková recently attended the launch of Felix Slováček’s new CD, Angelic Christmas, and the book “I Photographed the Stars” by František Jirásek, where she revealed she would be open to taking on acting roles again. “If an interesting offer came along that appealed to me, I would be happy to act again,” she told Aha!, but also expressed some apprehension. “It’s been a long time since I left that work. It’s much harder to return. I’m a little afraid,” the former actress admitted. See how she looks now!
