Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the aircraft perform a low maneuver before descending and erupting in flames near the show grounds. The Dubai Airshow is a significant event for the aerospace industry, attracting leaders, officials, and enthusiasts from around the globe.
“An Indian Tejas fighter aircraft participating in the flying display at the Dubai Airshow today has unfortunately crashed, resulting in the tragic loss of the pilot,” the Dubai Government Media Office stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, according to AFP.

Videos circulating on social media depict the jet crashing at high speed and exploding in a fireball, shocking onlookers. The incident prompted a rapid response from emergency services, with crews rushing to the crash site.
Thick plumes of smoke rose from the area as first responders worked to contain the aftermath. Hundreds of spectators had gathered in the stands, while the apron below was filled with aircraft, helicopters, and other aviation equipment on static display.
