Indonesia’s National Police are rolling out a modernized digital driver’s license system nationwide, aiming to cut down on processing times and increase clarity for citizens. The new “SIM Nasional Presisi” application launched Monday, December 1, 2025, and is now available at 153 driver’s license centers across 35 Indonesian provinces. Officials say the expansion to nearly 100 additional centers will bring the streamlined renewal process to a wider population.

Indonesia’s National Traffic Corps (Korlantas) announced Monday that its new, nationwide digital driver’s license application, SIM Nasional Presisi, is now operational at 153 driver’s license centers across 35 provinces.

The rollout of the digital license system marks a significant step in the Indonesian National Police’s efforts to modernize public services through technology.

Brig. Gen. Wibowo, Director of Registration and Identification at Korlantas Polri, said citizens can access the service starting December 1, 2025.

According to officials, the expansion to 99 additional driver’s license centers will make it easier for people throughout Indonesia to renew their licenses digitally.

Wibowo explained that the SINAR application was designed to streamline the renewal process, increase transparency, and offer a more convenient online experience for citizens.

Since its initial launch, the use of the SINAR application has increased substantially. The application has reduced the time required for license renewal from 90 minutes to just 15 minutes, police said.

Individuals using the application only need to visit their chosen driver’s license center for a photograph and to collect their renewed license.

Wibowo affirmed that the police force will continue to evaluate and improve the SINAR application’s features to ensure it provides a precise, efficient, and accountable service that meets the needs of the public.

“We want to ensure that the digital transformation of the National Police is felt by the community,” Wibowo stated. “Modernizing public services must reach all regions, not just major cities.”
