The match between Indonesia and Japan began with intense pressure from Japan during the opening five minutes, as they sought to establish early control.

Indonesia broke the deadlock in the 12th minute from a corner kick, with Samuel Eko capitalizing on a scramble in front of the Japanese goal to give his team a 1-0 lead.

As halftime approached, Japan increased their attacking intensity, but their shots continued to miss the target.
In the second half, Shunta Uchida unleashed a powerful shot in the 22nd minute, but Ahmad Habiebie made a crucial save with his feet.
Indonesia extended their advantage to 2-0 in the 23rd minute when Ardiansyah Nur’s shot deflected off Takehiro Motoishi and into the net.

The Japanese leveled the score at 2-2 in the 35th minute with a strike from Kazuya Shimizu from the side of the field.
Japan was awarded a penalty in the final 38 seconds due to a handball by Mochammad Iqbal Iskandar. Shimizu converted the penalty, tying the game 3-3 and sending the match to extra time.
Indonesia regained the lead in the first period of extra time with a goal from Reza Gunawan.
Indonesia solidified their advantage, making it 5-3 with a goal from Dewa Rizki into an empty net.
Japan earned another penalty after Habiebie committed a foul in the penalty area. Muhammad Nizar Nayaruddin entered as Indonesia’s goalkeeper, but Shimizu’s attempt sailed high over the crossbar.
This historic win propels Indonesia into the final of the Asian Futsal Cup, where they will face a formidable opponent in Iran.
