Inka Crops is planning a significant expansion of its San Juan de Lurigancho production facility, according to a technical report submitted to the Peruvian Ministry of Production (Produce). The project, valued at PEN 4,220,124.27 (approximately USD $1.15 million), aims to address space constraints hindering the installation of recent equipment and bolster the plant’s production capacity.
The proposed improvements center around the plant’s tuber washing area, with plans to expand the auxiliary area by 233.48% and implement technological upgrades through the installation of backup equipment. This move comes after Alicorp, a leading Peruvian food and consumer goods company, recently acquired a 60% stake in Inka Crops.

Alicorp firmó un acuerdo para la adquisición de acciones de Inka Crops y Procesadora Tropial en noviembre de 2025.
According to Alicorp, the planned changes are part of a regular optimization process for Inka Crops and are separate from the acquisition. Inka Crops submitted the project proposal to Produce prior to the completion of the deal. The company is seeking feedback from the public on the proposal until March 9, 2026, as part of the regulations for citizen participation in industrial projects.
The project is slated for completion within four weeks. The current plant layout was previously approved under Resolution Directoral N.° 426-2024-PRODUCE/DGAAMI, which covered a prior round of modifications and technological improvements.

Prior Efforts to Optimize Space
Prior to submitting the current technical report, Inka Crops S.A. Had proposed relocating the raw material laboratory, administrative offices, pest control area, restrooms, and changing rooms. This internal reorganization aimed to free up approximately 110 square meters of space for the current expansion project. That communication was submitted on December 16.
