Apple continues to prioritize user privacy with the release of iOS 26.3 beta 3, now available to public testers[[1]]. The latest beta introduces a new feature allowing users to limit the precision of their location data shared with mobile networks, addressing growing concerns about surveillance and data collection[[3]]. This update, alongside a subtle but functional share sheet enhancement, demonstrates Apple’s ongoing commitment to refining both the security and user experience of its mobile operating system, even as background security updates continue testing[[2]].

Apple has released the third beta of iOS 26.3 to public testers, introducing a new privacy feature that limits the precision of location data shared with mobile networks. The update, currently available for a limited number of iPhone models and carriers, aims to give users more control over their location privacy.

According to Apple, mobile networks can pinpoint a user’s location based on the cell towers their device connects to. Enabling the “Limit Precise Location” setting reduces the accuracy of this data. Instead of a specific address, networks may only be able to determine the community in which a user is located. Apple assures users that this setting will not impact signal quality or overall device performance.

Currently, the feature is exclusive to iPhones equipped with a C1 or C1X voice modem, including the iPhone Air and iPhone 16e. Rumors suggest that more iPhone 18 models will support the functionality in the future. Carrier support is also currently limited but is expected to expand over time.

Beyond the privacy enhancements, iOS 26.3 beta 3 includes a minor tweak to the share sheet interface. A button previously labeled “More” – which opened an expanded list of available actions – has been changed to “See More” with a downward-facing arrow. Clicking the button now toggles to “See Less” with an upward-facing arrow. This seemingly small change streamlines the user experience.

Previously located as the fourth option in the list, the action triggered by the button is now revealed at the top of the expanded menu. While not a substantial alteration, many users are already noting the improvement, as the previous implementation felt less intuitive.

Apple is inviting users to share their experiences with iOS 26.3 in the comments. The release underscores the ongoing focus on user privacy and control within the mobile ecosystem.

A selection of iPhone accessories are currently available, including the AirPods Pro 3 for $199 (approximately HK$ 1,552), down from its original price of $249 (approximately HK$ 1,942). Other available products include a 10-year AirTag battery case combo, a MagSafe car mount, and a 100W USB-C fast charging power adapter.
