IQOO,a rising competitor in the mobile gaming sector,is set to unveil its iQOO 15 Ultra smartphone in China early next month. The device, a sub-brand of vivo, aims to deliver a high-performance experience for mobile gamers through advanced cooling technology and specialized controls. Early previews reveal a design leaning heavily into the aesthetics of popular gaming titles, alongside reported high-end specifications intended to push the boundaries of mobile gameplay.

iQOO, a sub-brand of vivo, has officially teased its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15 Ultra, targeting mobile gamers with a launch scheduled for early February in China.

The teaser images, released on Weibo, showcase a bold design characteristic of gaming phones. The device features a textured back panel with a distinctive Honeycomb Pattern. However, the most notable element is the inclusion of vents around the rear camera module, confirming the integration of an Active Cooling Fan. This feature is designed to maintain consistent performance during extended gaming sessions by preventing overheating.

The iQOO 15 Ultra will be available in two striking color options, each with a futuristic aesthetic.

  • “2077” Black: Accented with orange lines, evoking the style of Cyberpunk 2077.
  • “2049” White: Featuring blue highlights, reminiscent of Blade Runner 2049.

Enhanced Controls and Powerful Specs

Beyond its design, the iQOO 15 Ultra incorporates Pressure-sensitive Shoulder Triggers on the right side of the device. These triggers aim to provide precise control in first-person shooter (FPS) games, offering a console-like gaming experience.

Reported specifications for the iQOO 15 Ultra include:

  • Chipset: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • Dedicated Chip: Q3 Gaming Chipset for enhanced graphics processing
  • Display: 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate for fluid visuals.

This upgrade is particularly noteworthy as integrated cooling fans are typically found on gaming phones from brands like RedMagic. Whether iQOO will release the device globally remains to be seen. The inclusion of active cooling is becoming increasingly important as mobile games demand more processing power and generate more heat, pushing the boundaries of smartphone performance.
