Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Tuesday that the war between the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic has been unsuccessful. The comments come as the conflict continues to escalate in the Middle East, raising concerns about wider regional instability.
“Plan A failed, and now they are trying another plan, but that has also failed,” Araghchi said, according to Al Jazeera.
He added that the U.S. And Israel lack a clear objective and, are carrying out indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas.

Araghchi also stated that attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure have caused oil prices to surge.
“They failed to achieve their goals at the beginning, and now, after 10 days, I reckon they have no goals,” the Iranian Foreign Minister said.
He told PBS News that negotiations with the U.S. Are no longer on the agenda, following “a particularly bitter experience” during previous nuclear talks.
“They promised us that they had no intention of attacking us, and they wanted to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue peacefully and find a negotiated solution,” Araghchi said. “Yet, they still decided to attack us.”
“I think the question of dialogue with America… will not be considered again,” he concluded.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump said the war against Iran is now “very much finished.” Trump claimed Washington is moving much faster than initially anticipated, exceeding expectations that the war would last four to five weeks.
The latest statement from Trump, as reported by Reuters on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, came during a phone interview with CBS News on Monday evening. The U.S. And Israel launched large-scale attacks against Iran starting February 28, triggering an escalation of conflict in the Middle East.
“I think the war is very much finished, almost completely,” Trump said, speaking to CBS News in a phone interview from his golf club in Doral, Florida.
“They (Iran) don’t have a navy, they don’t have communication, they don’t have an air force. Their missiles are down to very few. Their drones have been destroyed all over the place, including the drone-making factories,” Trump claimed in the interview.
The U.S. Military previously stated its forces have struck more than 3,000 targets in Iranian territory during the first week of the military operation, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury.”
“If you look, they don’t have anything left. Nothing left in terms of their military,” Trump said while speaking to CBS News correspondent Weijia Jiang during the phone interview.
Trump also stated that the U.S. Is “very far” ahead of schedule regarding the duration of the war, which he had previously estimated would last 4-5 weeks.
“We are very far ahead of schedule,” he said.
When asked if he believes the war will soon be over, Trump replied: “The end of the war is only in my mind, not in other people’s minds.”
