Heavy rainfall caused flooding in several areas of Jakarta on Wednesday, January 29, 2026, disrupting traffic and prompting warnings for commuters. The flooding underscores the ongoing challenges Jakarta faces with infrastructure and drainage during the rainy season.
Authorities reported standing water on Jl. Daan Mogot in West Jakarta, according to a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, by TMC Polda Metro Jaya.
“A 30-centimeter deep pool of water is affecting Jl. Daan Mogot Raya in the direction of Cengkareng, West Jakarta,” TMC Polda Metro stated.

Motorists and bus drivers were observed navigating the flooded roadway. Police are advising drivers to exercise caution in the area.
TMC Polda Metro Jaya also reported flooding on Jl. D.I. Pandjaitan in East Jakarta. The water level there reached 25 centimeters.
“A 25-centimeter deep pool of water is affecting Jl. D.I. Pandjaitan in front of Wikka Tower, in the direction of Kebon Nanas, East Jakarta,” the post read.
