Jakarta Floods: 39 RTs & Roads Still Inundated – Jan 30 Update

Heavy rainfall has caused widespread flash flooding across Jakarta, Indonesia, impacting dozens of neighborhoods and prompting emergency evacuations as of Friday morning. Teh Jakarta Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reports that 39 Resident Units (RT) and three road segments are currently inundated, with water levels reaching up to 3.5 meters in some areas of South and East Jakarta. Emergency personnel are working to pump out floodwaters and ensure drainage systems are functioning, while residents are urged to exercise caution and contact 112 in case of emergency.

Flash flooding continues to impact parts of Jakarta, Indonesia, leaving dozens of neighborhoods submerged as of Friday morning. The ongoing deluge has prompted evacuations and emergency response efforts across the capital city.

According to data from the Jakarta Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) released at 7:00 a.m. local time on Friday, January 30, 2026, 39 RT (Resident Units) and three road segments remain inundated. Water levels in South and East Jakarta have reached as high as 3.5 meters (approximately 11.5 feet) in some areas.

“BPBD currently records 39 RT and 3 road segments affected by flooding,” the agency stated.

BPBD DKI Jakarta personnel are actively monitoring conditions in affected areas. Efforts to pump out floodwaters are underway, alongside checks to ensure drainage systems are functioning properly.

“The goal is to reduce water levels as quickly as possible,” BPBD DKI Jakarta said.

The agency is urging residents to exercise caution and remain vigilant for potential flooding. For emergencies, citizens are advised to contact 112, a free, 24/7 hotline.

Here’s a breakdown of the flooding as of Friday morning:

West Jakarta: 8 RT
– Kedaung Kali Angke Village: 4 RT
– Rawa Buaya Village: 1 RT
– Kembangan Selatan Village: 3 RT

Water Depth: 20 to 30 centimeters (approximately 8 to 12 inches)
Cause: Heavy rainfall and overflow from the Kali Mookervaart river.

South Jakarta: 8 RT
– Pejaten Timur Village: 4 RT
– Rawajati Village: 2 RT
– Tanjung Barat Village: 2 RT

Water Depth: 150 to 350 centimeters (approximately 5 to 11.5 feet)
Cause: Heavy rainfall and overflow from the Kali Ciliwung river.

East Jakarta: 21 RT
– Rawa Terate Village: 1 RT
– Bidara Cina Village: 4 RT
– Kampung Melayu Village: 4 RT
– Cawang Village: 9 RT
– Cililitan Village: 2 RT
– Balekambang Village: 1 RT

Water Depth: 50 to 350 centimeters (approximately 20 to 11.5 feet)
Cause: Heavy rainfall and overflow from the Kali Ciliwung river.

North Jakarta has 2 RT affected:
– Cilincing Village: 1 RT
– Marunda Village: 1 RT

Water Depth: 20 to 30 centimeters (approximately 8 to 12 inches)
Cause: Heavy rainfall and overflow from the Kali Nagrak river.

Central Jakarta
