Jakarta authorities announced temporary road closures across eight key areas of the city from February 5-7 to accommodate the visit of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The closures are intended to facilitate the prime minister’s motorcade and ensure security during his stay.
Details regarding the temporary closures were also posted to the official Instagram account of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate, @tmcpoldametro.
“There will be escort and temporary traffic management on several major roads in Jakarta as a form of respect,” said Police Commissioner Komarudin, Director of Traffic at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, when confirming the plans on Wednesday, February 4.

Komarudin explained that the road closures will be implemented on a situational basis, only occurring when the official motorcade is passing through. The temporary nature of the restrictions is intended to minimize disruption to daily traffic flow.
“The closures are situational and will only be brief,” he added.
The following eight roads will be affected by the temporary closures:

2. Jalan MT. Haryono
3. Jalan HR. Rasuna Said
4. Jalan Prof. Dr. Soepomo
5. Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio
6. Jalan Jend. Sudirman
7. Jalan MH. Thamrin
8. Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat
