After losses to Italy, Japan, and Sweden, the French women’s hockey team faces a steep climb to qualify for the quarterfinals. They must defeat Germany by at least four goals and hope Italy defeats Germany as well. A miracle will be needed for the French to advance.

09:51 – Nils Allègre on the Combined Format
“I loved the format at Saalbach and I still love it. We see the best downhill skiers in the world and the best slalom skiers reach together. It appeals to the athletes, it appeals to the people. Racing as a team is so rare in skiing and, on top of that, it’s done intelligently. The parallel was quite confusing, This represents clear, people can identify with the pairs,” commented French skier Nils Allègre after his race on Saturday.
09:46 – French Flag Bearer Feeling Confident
Ahead of the men’s combined event, French flag bearer Clément Noël says he “feels very well. I can feel pressured sometimes, but never for more than 24 hours before a race – at least, that’s never happened to me. I’m fairly serene, fairly calm. I’m enjoying the event. You have to understand how to enjoy the Olympic Games while conserving your energy and staying focused on what you have to do,” Noël told Olympics.com. “Now, I will certainly feel some stress on the day of the slalom, but whether I am Olympic champion or not, I would have had that stress,” added the skier from the Vosges mountains.
09:35 – Time for Men’s Alpine Combined
The men’s alpine combined event at the 2026 Winter Olympics will begin at 10:30 AM local time with the downhill run, followed by the slalom at 2:00 PM.

This recent format, first officially introduced at the 2025 World Ski Championships, allows nations to enter up to four teams. Countries can field two skiers of the same gender per team, but they can only compete in one of the two runs – downhill or slalom. The fastest teams will take the victory.
