Kai Trump Shares Ryder Cup Experience Following Team USA Loss

Bethpage Black, NY – Kai Trump, the 18-year-old golfer and social media personality, shared her experience attending the Ryder Cup last month with her grandfather, former President Donald Trump, following Team USA’s narrow defeat by Europe.

The event, held at the Bethpage Black course, marked a historic moment as the former President became the first sitting U.S. president to attend a Ryder Cup. As Air Force One flew over the course, Trump led a “USA!” chant, energizing the crowd. Kai Trump described the event as “even better than I expected,” stating in a recent YouTube video, “I’ve always wanted to go… It’s always been like a dream of mine. So, I’m like really happy that I get to go. But I’m really excited, very thankful that I had the opportunity to go, especially with my grandpa.”

Throughout the competition, Kai and the former President cheered on the U.S. team, interacting with players like JJ Spaun and Keegan Bradley, who performed a playful dance referencing the former President’s signature moves. Europe ultimately secured a 16.5-11.5 victory, their second consecutive win in the Ryder Cup, following their 2023 triumph in Rome. The Ryder Cup is a biennial men’s golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States.

Following the European win, Rory McIlroy playfully directed a comment toward the former President in a viral video, asking, “Are you watching, Donald Trump?” to which he responded with a congratulatory message. The loss for Team USA comes as the team looks to rebuild and prepare for the next competition in 2027, which will be held at Congressional Country Club. You can learn more about the history of the Ryder Cup on the official website.

Officials have not yet announced any further plans regarding the Trump’s involvement with future golf events, but Kai Trump indicated she hopes to attend more competitions in the future.
