Mumbai: A recent episode of Netflix’s “The Great Indian Kapil Show” featured a playful exchange between Indian cricket legends Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh, and Virender Sehwag. A teaser clip from the new episode has quickly gone viral, showcasing a humorous back-and-forth between the three former teammates.

Kaif jokingly claimed he was poorer than both Yuvraj and Sehwag, prompting a quick retort from Yuvraj. “What shoes are you wearing?” Yuvraj asked, to which Kaif replied, “Gucci.” Yuvraj then quipped, “Then how can you say you’re poor?” sparking laughter.

Sehwag, Kaif, and Yuvraj enjoyed a strong camaraderie during their playing days, often featuring prominently in India’s middle order during the 2000s. Their partnership was particularly impactful in the 2002 NatWest Series final against England, where Kaif and Yuvraj forged a match-winning sixth-wicket stand that remains a cherished memory for cricket fans.

Yuvraj Singh played a pivotal role in two of India’s most significant limited-overs triumphs, securing victory in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Kaif, a dynamic middle-order batsman, made his international debut in a Test match against South Africa in Bengaluru in March 2000. Over a career spanning more than six years, he represented India in 13 Tests and 125 One Day Internationals.

Kaif is remembered for his impactful innings and athletic fielding. A standout moment came during the 2002 NatWest Series final at Lord’s, where he scored an unbeaten 87 runs in a thrilling chase of 326 against England. Kaif and Yuvraj (69) combined for a crucial 121-run partnership for the sixth wicket, helping India secure a two-wicket victory with just three balls remaining and clinch the series. Kaif was also a member of the Indian team that reached the final of the 2003 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.

Throughout his ODI career, Kaif amassed 2,753 runs at an average of 32.01, including two centuries and 17 half-centuries. He also scored 624 runs in 13 Test matches, averaging 32.84.
