Support for José Antonio Kast as the next president of the Republic is growing, according to a new poll, while current President Gabriel Boric faces increasing disapproval. The findings suggest a potential shift in the political landscape as the country heads toward future elections.
The poll indicates that 63% of those surveyed believe Kast will be the next president, a 4-percentage-point increase from the previous measurement. This growing expectation of a Kast victory comes as dissatisfaction with the current administration remains high.
Conversely, only 29% of respondents believe Jeannette Jara will be elected, a decrease of 4 percentage points. The data points to a scenario where the momentum is shifting toward the Republican Party candidate at the expense of Jara, representing Unidad por Chile and the DC.
When asked about second-round voting preferences, Kast leads Jara with 51% of the preferences, a 1-point increase. Jara receives 35%, a 1-point decrease.
Approximately 14% of those polled indicated they intend to submit a blank or null vote in a potential runoff election.
A significant 69% of respondents believe Kast is more capable of addressing issues related to security and immigration. Additionally, 65% see him as having a stronger plan to stimulate economic growth.
