Kerala Health Minister Veena George is facing criticism after opposition party KSU accused her of misusing intensive care unit (ICU) facilities for a photoshoot while patients struggle to find beds. The allegations reach after an attack on the minister by KSU protestors on February 25.

KSU shared a photo on Facebook showing the minister with nurses, alleging she was conducting a photoshoot in the ICU at Pariyam Medical College. The group claims This represents a violation of hospital protocols and disregards the needs of patients awaiting critical care. This incident underscores the ongoing tensions between the ruling government and opposition groups in the region.

According to reports, George was injured during a protest at the Kannur Railway Station on February 25. She is currently receiving treatment at Pariyam Government Medical College Hospital. A medical bulletin indicated the minister sustained a neck injury and doctors recommended an MRI scan.

A medical board meeting held online determined that George will be discharged on February 27. She requested to be released and will continue her treatment in Thiruvananthapuram. Reports indicate her blood pressure has stabilized and her overall health is improving.
