Kilian Peier will compete in Sunday’s third stage of the Four Hills Tournament in Innsbruck, Austria, after securing a spot through qualifying rounds. The Swiss jumper initially missed qualifying, but advanced following the disqualification of another competitor.
Peier narrowly missed automatic qualification with a jump of 97.8 points, falling just short of Andreas Wellinger’s 97.9 points, which initially secured the 50th and final qualifying position. However, a subsequent disqualification opened a place for the Vaudois athlete in the competition, scheduled for 1:30 PM local time.
Leading the Swiss contingent, Sandro Hauswirth achieved 13th place in qualifying with a jump of 122 meters. Gregor Deschwanden also advanced, finishing 27th with 121.5 meters, while Felix Trunz qualified in 35th place with a jump of 121 meters.
