Console players can now experience the latest enhancements to a popular RPG.
A next-generation update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance has arrived on PlayStation 5, following reports of an early listing in the PlayStation Store. Warhorse Studios has released the game on current-generation consoles, with a free update – version 1.9.7 – now available to all owners of the standard and Royal editions on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The Royal edition is currently on sale on the PlayStation Store for just 33.80 zł.
The update arrives eight years after the original game’s release and less than a year after the launch of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. For many, this provides an ideal opportunity to revisit Henry’s adventures, or to experience the title for the first time. The release highlights the ongoing trend of developers extending support and enhancing older titles for new hardware.
According to observations shared online, the improvements are substantial. Enhanced resolution and graphical detail bring medieval Bohemia to life. PC players have long enjoyed these “ultra” settings, but Warhorse Studios has now extended those benefits to console users. Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S can now enjoy a stable 60 frames per second. This performance boost makes both combat and exploration significantly smoother.
Improved textures, character models, shadows, and environmental details create a more immersive experience, making the 2018 game experience remarkably refreshed. Where previously models appeared blocky, puddles now reflect the environment, the horizon has gained depth, fire realistically flickers, and light streams into homes as intended. Even subtle details like dust particles visible in light beams have been added. Loading times have also been reduced. A detailed comparison can be viewed in a video from YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits.
Patch 1.9.7 isn’t just about graphics. Players on both PC and consoles also receive new cosmetic rewards, including a horse caparison as an anniversary bonus. To claim it, users must link their account with Deep Silver – the caparison will appear after completing the prologue. Stability has also been improved, and several bugs have been fixed.
As of February 13, 2026, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game has sold 11 million copies, up from 10 million last year, according to Warhorse Studios.
