Korona Kielce ended their lengthy home drought with a 2-1 victory over Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The win, Korona’s first at home since September, provides a crucial boost as they navigate the PKO Ekstraklasa table. Despite the loss, Termalica remains within striking distance of escaping the relegation zone.

Neither side entered the match willing to concede an inch, resulting in a tightly contested first half. Both Korona and Termalica focused on attacking, but clear-cut chances were scarce, with goalkeepers largely untroubled aside from dealing with crosses.

The home side created one of the few openings in the 14th minute when Mariusz Stępiński headed a left-sided cross towards goal from six meters, but Adrian Chovan produced a fine save to deny him.

Outside of that opportunity, the first half was characterized by a series of heated exchanges. Andrzej Trubeha endured several challenges, but was able to continue playing until being substituted in the second half.

Korona broke the deadlock just before halftime. Following a corner, the ball was inadvertently flicked on by a defender and struck Marcel Pięczek before finding the back of the net, with Stępiński also getting a touch but from an offside position.

Termalica struggled to create chances after the restart. Marcin Brosz made two substitutions with the score at 2-0, but Korona extended their lead in the 52nd minute. Slobodan Rubezić’s shot from the penalty area was initially saved by Chovan, but Kostas Sotiriou was on hand to slot home the rebound.

The visitors thought they had pulled one back almost immediately when Morgan Fassbender scored in a one-on-one situation, but the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.

Termalica did eventually find the net in the 58th minute. Radu Boboc’s right-sided cross was turned in by Ivan Durdov, and after another VAR check, the goal was given by referee Karol Arys.

Despite the goal, Termalica failed to mount a sustained attack. Bruk-Bet pushed for an equalizer, with Krzysztof Kubica’s 74th-minute free kick narrowly missing the right post.

A late equalizer almost arrived in the 83rd minute, but Artem Putiwcew headed wide from a promising position. Eight minutes of added time failed to produce another goal for the visitors.

The result marked Korona Kielce’s first home win since September, whereas Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza’s struggles continue, leaving them increasingly vulnerable in the relegation battle.
