Los Angeles Police Seek Additional Victims in Sexual Assault Case

Los Angeles police detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying potential additional victims connected to a sexual assault investigation involving David Josue Lopes.

Lopes, 37, also known as David Lopez, was arrested on November 6 in the Westlake area and subsequently booked for sexual assault, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was initially identified as a suspect in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor female in Hollywood. Investigators believe Lopes may have victimized others due to the severity of the alleged crimes.

Authorities have released a photograph of Lopes to aid in identification. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim is urged to come forward, as reporting sexual assault is a critical step toward healing and justice; resources are available through the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network. The LAPD is actively investigating similar cases and seeking to determine the full extent of Lopes’ alleged actions. You can find more information about the LAPD’s work at their official website.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact detectives at the Juvenile Division-Stuart House at 424-259-7096 or submit tips anonymously through 1-877-527-3247. Detectives continue to investigate and ask anyone with relevant information to come forward.
